A lovely garden area at night sets the mood with the ambience of decorative lighting well placed for maximum benefit.
The first thing that you need to do is find a flashlight. Most people will have one of these sitting around somewhere in their home. Make sure the batteries are fresh and the light should be able to change the beam from a flood light setting to a spot light setting. Now, take a night and go out with your flashlight and walk around your yard. Find different plants, trees, and other fixtures that you would like to light.
Then take your flashlight and place it in the different spots where you think that you would like to place a light fixtures. Try out all sorts of weird and wacky angle until you get the effect that you want. This may take a few hours and isn’t 100 percent exact, but it will give you a great sense of what you can do with your lights without having to waste money trying out different light fixtures. Make a note of where you want to put your lights and what type of fixtures you’d like to install.
As soon as you get back inside, take a piece of paper and make a sketch of your property. Take whatever notes you’ve made either mentally or otherwise, and put the lights where you want them in the sketch. This way when you go into a home improvement store to look for fixtures you know what you want to buy.
