Solar Lights As Exterior Post Lamps

in Exterior Solar Lights,Solar Lights for the Garden

As we have previously mentioned, all solar lights are not created equally.  Solar post lamps for the yard come in a variety of capabilities.  Again, you get what you pay for.

One of the best solar lights we have found for use as an exterior yard post lamp is created for Solar Illuminations.  The Balmoral double lamp post solar light is our choice for the best illumination, displaying 75 watts of light per each of the lamps.  Each of the lamps contain 51 LED bulbs that are permanent and never require replacement.  That means no climbing in the future to replace bulbs.  If there has ever been a “set it and forget it” light, the Balmoral is it.  The 9-volt 12 Amp per hour rechargeable battery is inside the lampshade and is replaceable.

The Balmoral is approximately 11 feet tall after installation.  Each of the lamps is over two feet high and over a foot wide.  The size of the Balmoral dictates special placement so it does not overwhelm the yard.  Additionally, this solar light has traditional styling that complements almost any setting.  While many solar lights give a cheap appearance, there is nothing sparse about the Balmoral.

Among the benefits of this solar lamp light are that the lamp appearance is clean and neat, manufactured of aluminum, the lampshades are resistant to maliciousness such a children throwing rocks and to the elements.  The solar panels are undetectable once the light is installed as they are built into the top of each lampshade.  The windows of the lampshade are made of a clear polycarbonate.

There is an on and off switch for those who wish to override the natural process of lighting at dusk.  Of note and as a reminder, the light should be positioned in an area of full sunlight to achieve maximum night lighting.

The post is designed to be bolted to concrete or screwed into a level surface, having a base of 10″ by 10″.  Unlike many cheaper lights the attachment to a solid surface prevents theft, a problem that can occur with smaller stake type yard lights.

As an added benefit, the company offers matching solar lights for columns or as lantern lights.

The advertised price of this solar light for the yard is around $1500.  While on initial view this may seem a bit costly, it is well worth the money.  The light is sturdy and of good appearance.  The cost of digging up the ground for electrical wiring and the cost of an electric yard lamp could cost far more.

If you plan to invest in one solar light for the yard, we suggest that this solar lamp is the best choice.
